The Village of Dundee wanted to reach out and address some proactive measures we are taking to help combat the spread of COVID-19. As you are probably already aware the virus has found its way to Michigan. Governor Whitmer has declared a state of emergency to maximize efforts and assist local governments and officials to slow the spread of COVID-19.
Here at the Village office we are working closely with Monroe County EMD, and are taking every step we can to mitigate the spread of the virus and keep our citizens safe.
According to the CDC there is no vaccine to prevent coronavirus disease. The best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to this virus. The virus is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person.
Between people who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet).
Through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes.
We have included steps to help protect yourself:
1. Clean your hands often
2. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth
3. Use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol
4. Avoid close contact with people who are sick
5. Stay home if you’re sick
6. Cover coughs and sneezes
7. Wear a facemask if you are sick
8. Clean and disinfect
The Village will continue to monitor this situation and provide information as it becomes available.
